The Sheldonian Theatre

The Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford, England.

I went into Oxford the other day and I thought I would take a few shots while I was there.

The buildings of Oxford university and the city center are one and the same. One minute you are walking through the shops and the next you find yourself in a 17th century courtyard. Even when you live here it is still enchanting.

The Theatre, built in 1664–9, was one of the very first works of Sir Christopher Wren. This, the most popular view, is in fact the back of the building. To the left is the Clarendon Building (built to house the Oxford University Press) and to the right is the Old Ashmolean Building, home to the Museum of the History of Science.

This panorama of the Sheldonian theatre has taken a long time to complete. It's a composite of over 24 images stitched together in Photoshop, HDR processed and then lots of problems needed to be sorted out. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
