Correcting lens problems in post is a bore sometimes, I know.
I am sorry to hear that you have been unsuccessful, so far, in your attempts at HDR photography. Is it in combining multiple images or in the processing? If it is the combination of the images that's the problem then the use of a tripod would certainly help, although I never use one. If it's in the processing, what software have you tried? I do hope you persevere, it's certainly worth it and it is so much fun to do as well.
Anyway, must go, I'll bet that in a couple of months time you'll be the proud owner of several really good HDR images and a really big smile
