Brass Engraved Floor Plaque 02 by s-kmp Brass Engraved Floor Plaque 02 by s-kmp
St Michael and All Angels, Great Tew, Oxfordshire, England.

Great Tew is often described as one of the most beautiful villages in England and it's church does it proud. St Michael's was originally Norman in origin, dating from about 1170, it was rebuilt in the 13th century and if you're in the area it's a must to visit.

Inside you will find a beautiful interior, brass floor plaques, a superb font and the most wonderful sculpture of Mary Anne Boulton.

These bring back happy childhood memories of brass rubbing (sad!) - I must revisit them with my camera.

Thanks for looking, with the advent of mass photography, brass rubbing is sadly a thing of the past :(

It at least prevents the damaging wear of the memorial brasses
but obviously not so hands on and a different skill! :)
